| Okay, I'm going to propose something controversial here. Just bear with me and give it a thought. Just suppose Dubya does win the election in November. (or steal it - it doesn't really matter anymore does it?) Just suppose it wasn't the end of the world. See, I was thinking. He and his ilk have created such a mess in the Middle East, that it won't be fixable for the next 100 years. All of us and some of our children (and their children) will all need to be dead before the bitterness and the dedication to our untimely deaths goes away. We're going to be reviled and targeted everywhere for the next 100 years. John Kerry cannot fix that mess in the 2-1/2 years he'll have before the campaigning for 2008 begins. And because he cannot fix the problem that Dubya and his ilk have created before the campaigning for 2008 begins, Dubya's ilk will take every opportunity to spin the situation, until the great unwashed public of the US of A remembers how it was Kerry and Clinton who got us into the unfixable mess... They'll do it. You know they will. And what happens then? They come right fucking back into power in 2008! So... Say Dubya gets elected for 4 more years. He keeps his mess that can't be fixed. He further bankrupts the country to pay off his billionaire buddies. He devistates the environment to feed his fat-cat oil supporters. His stupid-assed Medicare reforms come to fruition and the old folks are all out living in the streets in cardboard boxes. Unemployment skyrockets due to Wallmarts on every corner disrupting communities business. Ghost towns become the norm. Plagues of normally treatable diseases break out in epidemics because nobody can afford to see a doctor... Devistation reigns! Do you honestly think a Republican freak can get elected in the forseeable future after that jackass makes even more of a mess than he already has? Now I won't be able to bring myself to vote for him, and I don't advise anyone else to, but I'm just sayin' it might not end up so bad if he won. Eventually. September 23, 2004 |
